Complete Open Availability- Evenings and Weekends Required Position Overview:
Store Support Custodian is responsible for performing a wide range of duties and tasks that support the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the store.
Duties will vary throughout the day and the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and support the needs of the departments is key to being successful in this position.
Tasks may include but are not limited to unscheduled and scheduled cleaning, daily, weekly, monthly deep cleaning of departments, warehouse, common areas and restrooms.
Essential Functions:
Perform indoor and outdoor janitorial duties for store location Demonstrate adequate aptitude to use approved cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment found in a grocery store environment Operate a variety of equipment including industrial cardboard baler and industrial garbage compactor Stock customer and employee bathroom supplies and replenish department cleaning supplies Collect and dispose of garbage, compost, recycling and hazardous waste Make and remove box bale from the industrial baler Basic maintenance skills to make minor repairs or unclog drains and toilets when needed Replace light bulbs and properly dispose of burned out bulbs and tubes Ability to troubleshoot plumbing issues and perform minor repairs Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently Ability to respond to emergency situations and work alternate shifts when required Skills &
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year experience in basic janitorial duties Ability to work independently A positive attitude, pleasant personality Excellent communication and organizational skills Punctual and dependable Strong attention to detail Must be able to work under deadline pressure Proactive in addressing problems and prioritizing workload Ability to take initiative to seek out work Exercise sound judgement in response to operational problems Clean and maintain janitorial tools as necessary Conversational English skills required when working with customers.
Bilingual proficiency preferred.
